Candlelit Major Donor Dinner in aid of SOS Children’s Villages

On 10th November, we welcomed 50 guests to Quintessentially Soho to enjoy a candlelit dinner in the chapel and learn more about the amazing work of SOS Children’s Villages. Guests included Quintessentially Members, contacts of host Chris Gorman, as well as new and existing supporters of SOS Children’s Villages from the financial sector. The guests enjoyed a speech by Simon Jukes, Head of Global Business Strategy at HSBC, discussing his personal connection to SOS Children’s Villages, as well as a talk by Dr Nokwanda Dlamini relaying her experience growing up in an SOS Children’s Village in Swaziland. There was a fabulous silent auction, with art donated by the Broad Gallery and an exciting meet-and-greet the Script Music Group, donated by Chris Gorman. Overall, the evening was a smashing success and we’d like to thank everyone involved.

All the money raised on the evening has gone towards the construction of a new SOS Children’s Village in Chipata, Zambia. It will consist of 13 Family Houses, as well as a Nursery School and a Medical Centre. Work has started on the site, and completion is expected in the second quarter of 2012.
