The employee engagement scheme got off the ground in London with a team from the London office, including Paul Drummond and Alison Lewis, visiting Fairchildes Primary School in Croydon, South London over the course of two days to help decorate a Place2Be room.
The Place2Be is one of the UK-based charities and provides counselling services in schools for children and their families to help them cope with the difficulties in their lives. By providing these services early on in a child’s life, the charity is able to stop the downwards spiral that can so often lead to problems later on in life including prison – 90% of young offenders have had a mental health problem as a child.
The room which the London team decorated is a safe and secure place where the children go on a weekly basis to talk through their problems and build up their confidence, self esteem and resilience which will help them in the future.
By all accounts, the Quintessentially London team had a great time at the school, enjoyed a trip back down memory lane eating school dinners and saw that their work was really appreciated by the Fairchildes Primary School and The Place2Be. A big thank you to everyone who was kind enough to get involved.
