Quintessentially Foundation Day

Quintessentially Foundation Day 2010 had a distinctly patriotic edge, as the office was taken over by the theme of an English Village Fete. The Soho offices were decked out in bunting and balloons, and the staff sported boater hats and stuck to a colour scheme of red, white and blue in line with the “Traditionally English” fancy dress theme.

The first event of the day was the now infamous Annual CEO Telethon, which saw Aaron Simpson raiding his contact book in an intense hour long fundraiser which exceeded all expectations by raising nearly GBP 6700!

Charity presentations followed at the House of St Barnabas, with talks from the staff at the House as well as from our other three charities: Room to Read, The Place2Be and SOS Children’s Villages. Many Quintessentially staff were kind enough to give up their lunchtime to find out more about the great causes that the fun day was in aid of.

In the afternoon the whole office got involved in the general merriment. Firstly there was a cake sale to help everyone beat the Friday afternoon energy slump with some delicious homemade baking donated by some very kind and talented Q staff. A tombola stall followed, and with prizes ranging from a bottle of champagne to a packet of Jaffa Cakes, some of the winners were happier than others! These activities in the office raised an amazing £142.

The day wound down with evening drinks in the garden of The House of St Barnabas. A really fun day was had by all, and even though the sun wasn’t shining outside we still managed to create the spirit of an English Summer Fete inside the Quintessentially offices in the centre of London.

We’re thrilled to say that we managed to raise just under GBP 7000 for the great charities that we support. We would like to thank the Q Soho staff, and particularly Aaron Simpson, for their generosity and help in making the day such a success.
