Children growing up in poverty face multiple and complex challenges, which can limit their development and degrade their potential.

London has the highest rate of child poverty in England. The Childhood Trust supports the 800,000 plus children living in poverty in the capital by funding and delivering projects and services that meet children’s practical and emotional needs.

In 2020, funding from the Quintessentially Foundation enabled The Childhood Trust to engage approximately 26,500 vulnerable children in a range of essential support services over the past year. Through our matched-funding model, £129,028 granted to us by The Quintessentially Foundation generated £609,012 of vital funding for 85 different youth projects delivering counselling and mental health support, food provision, sports training, arts and cultural activities, and special educational needs support.

In 2021, the Quintessentially Foundation is partnering with The Childhood Trust on its Christmas Campaign, which aims to fund 100 projects and reach 100,000 children this winter and beyond.

“Thanks to Quintessentially Foundation’s support, the childhood trust has transformed the lives of thousands of London’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged children by funding the provision of a wide range of practical and emotional support across every borough of London.”
