Volunteer with us

Volunteers are the lifeline for so many grassroots charities. The skills, time, energy and passion that they bring to the charities are priceless. Regularly, we hear from our charity partners that they would not be able to do what they do and would not be able to help the children and young people that they reach without their volunteers.

By giving your time, you will help change the lives of children and young people in London and, at the same time, you will build new skills and meet new people.

OUR CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES:

Little Village supports families with babies and children under five, living in poverty across London. They run a baby bank network, collecting, sorting and passing on pre-loved clothes and equipment.

The charity needs people to sort donations, pack up gift bundles for families, drive stock and deliver items to families. They also have some remote roles too.

Little Village has sites in Tooting, Balham, Roehampton, Kings Cross, Wembley, Hackney and Hounslow.

There is a creche for 0-5yr olds on Fridays in Kings Cross and on a Thursday morning in Balham. These are free to use if you are volunteering.

The Kids Network believes every child should have access to positive childhoods and the future they deserve.

The charity matches children aged 8 to 11 with positive role models; local heroes from their communities who help build their confidence, resilience and ability to manage their feelings. Over the course of a year, these mentors provide fun and positive experiences and activities for the children.

The Kids Network now needs mentors to help children across London feel brave, proud and confident. Full training is given to mentors and you can learn more by watching this video.

2020 Change is leading the way to a more diverse and inclusive workforce in the UK. Through training programmes, mentorship and career support, the charity empowers young BAME professionals to flourish in the workplace.

The charity is looking for mentors who share its belief that some of the best talent can be found in our inner cities. All that is required is your time, experience, network, and a dash of your personality.

Mentors are asked to volunteer two hours a month for three months and are personally matched with mentees at Mentor Matcher Mixers.

Doorstep Library is community-focussed charity dedicated to bring the gift of books and the joy of reading directly into the homes of children across London who need its support.

Doorstep Library recruits volunteers to visit the same families at the same time every week to read to them. This inspires a love of books, of stories and storytelling, and to instil a lifelong love of reading. This helps prepare children and broadens their opportunities in later life. Watch this video for more information on what they do.

Team up uses tuition, delivered by inspiring role models, to enable pupils from low-income backgrounds to meaningfully increase their academic attainment, in order to improve the choices open to them.

Team up is looking for tutors to help make a difference for pupils they support across London and you can help by volunteering in their 12 week programme. Over the 12 week programme, you’ll deliver weekly tuition and work alongside a team of fellow role models to support and develop pupils at school.
