Fayre of St James's 2021 raises £200,000

The Fayre of St. James’s Christmas carol concert has raised over £200,000 for The Childhood Trust and the Quintessentially Foundation.

The event took place in the beautiful enclaves of St James’s Church, Piccadilly, and was a magical evening of carols, readings, and live performances by the likes of Tom Grennan, Sam Ryder, Nicola Benedetti and Birdy who all came together to support the work of The Childhood Trust and Quintessentially Foundation.

Now in its 10th year, The Fayre of St James’s has become one of London’s most sought after carol concerts and a glamorous festive event in the social calendar, while raising much needed funds for disadvantaged children and communities. Other artists and patrons who performed and supported this year include Emelia Fox, Ben Elliot, Robert Lindsay, David Morrissey, Tom Stoppard, Sabrina Guinness, Ben Miller, Harrison Knights and Harriet Walter.

Quintessentially Foundation supports UK-based grassroots organisations working in disadvantaged communities. The Foundation provides them with funding towards their mission and works hand-in-hand with them to raise awareness of their cause. Since 2008, the Foundation has raised over £14 m for a range of charities. This winter, the Foundation is collaborating with The Childhood Trust.

The Childhood Trust is London’s child poverty charity, supporting 150,000 children annually who are living in the capital. The projects funded by the charity help children and young people to overcome the disadvantages caused by poverty; such as hunger, homelessness, stress, loneliness and anxiety. The funding and direct support engages the most disadvantaged children in the poorest communities in every borough of London.

“This Christmas tens of thousands of children in London are facing hunger, cold and loneliness due to poverty.  Thanks to Quintessentially Foundation’s support, The Childhood Trust will be able to stop poverty from ruining the lives of London’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged children, providing vitally needed practical and emotional support through the projects we fund in every borough of London.” said Laurence Guinness, Chief Executive, The Childhood Trust.

A virtual version of the concert is available to watch here. Tickets are £20 with all proceeds going to the charities.
